CIO SUMMIT 30,000 FEET UP IN THE AIR! - Business Traveler

HOW ABOUT A CIO SUMMIT 30,000 FEET UP IN THE AIR! - Business Traveler

The good news about meeting planning is, you get to travel the world. The bad news is, well, same thing. Because if you fly frequently or far for a living, there to greet you on either end is your old pal, jet lag, reminding you why the root of the word travel is travail (n): a painful or laborious effort. Well I am travelling to Dallas for a CIO Summit! Interesting as it sounds, the long hours of flying and the time where I have to do nothing get to me.

Air terminals now a days are synonymous to long lines and hold up times. Right from the time you are dropped off to the time you are picked up at the destination you are sitting tight in line for quite a while. Long hold up lines at the registration counters, well security (TSA) ought to be viewed as more than simply holding up. I at times think, individuals age by simply waiting to get through the security due to the long lines, worrying that you will be called for a special checking routine and that you might get searched in broad daylight. At that point obviously the lines, segments and isolation of gatherings, first class individuals to load onto the flight.

Notwithstanding every one of these lines, there is waiting time and long lines for you to try and get some espresso.

When you check the statistics on the flight cancellations and delays around the world, the figures are somewhat staggering! 716 flights on an average get cancelled everyday while 14353 flights get delayed!! And looking at the numbers there is a 69% chance you are going to be on one of these flights! So a waste of your precious time is always looming when you plan to fly!

But gladly, these days I use Flyght Club a Business Social Network App for Business Traveler! And it has become my solace. This app allows folks on the same flight to connect and network and more importantly be able to pre-order food/drinks ahead of time.

Once at the airport, I checked in on the FLYGHT CLUB application. I sent my mobile boarding pass to the application to populate my flight data including the flight number, aircrafts, airplane terminals and times. Immediately searched through the profiles of different travelers. Found Mr. Ken! Mr. Ken was also traveling to Dallas for the CIO summit!
Mr. Ken and I decided to meet. We met at the coffee shop at the terminal we were supposed to board from. After quick introductions and background, we realized we had a lot of things in common. We talked long about work and all the innovations in the field. It was like a minefield of information. We decided to continue with our talk while flying.

We managed to get seats next to each other so as to continue with our talks. In fact, there was a potential for business between the two of us! We chatted through the flight and both of us expressed interest in conducting business. There was a future with us doing great business together.

We planned to meet at the Summit, so as to be able to understand each other’s position and line of work.

Now that’s what I would call a CIO Summit up in the Air!!

I am so glad for the app FLYGHT CLUB, it helped me make an incredible association, impression and brought in new business.

THANK YOU FLYGHT CLUB.
